Temporary mosque closes
The temporary mosque opened for Ramadan 1447, named Masjid Al-Firdhaus, was closed from 20 March 2026, the council announced.

The council said MTCC had confirmed it could not build the temporary mosque the government had promised after the old mosque was demolished, so the council began converting the Quran Centre with its own funds.

The council tendered repairs to Masjid al-Eemaan, Masjid al-Ikraam and Masjid al-Safa on 17 January 2024. Three bids came in (MVR 355,725 to 806,263.80), and the work was awarded on 1 February 2024 to Saxu Collection for MVR 355,725 over 45 days. The award was published on 8 February 2024.
