About
The 2024 national budget listed a 14-hectare reclamation of Milandhoo's west lagoon, with a revetment, as a new project under the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure: MVR 1.7 million for 2024, MVR 4 million for 2025 and MVR 5 million for 2026. No tender for it has appeared in the gazette or on the Finance Ministry's lists, and in 2026 a large part of the lagoon was reclaimed for the new airport, so it is not clear whether this plan will go ahead on its own.
