The 2024 national budget listed a "state-of-the-art TVET institute" as a new project under the Ministry of Higher Education, with MVR 450,000 for 2024, MVR 1.35 million planned for 2025 and MVR 1.8 million for 2026. No tender for it has appeared in the gazette or on the Finance Ministry's tender list yet.
