Reopened after redesign
The council rebuilt it with Salaam Investment as the contractor for MVR 1.6m from its own budget, adding seating and LED lights. It reopened at 10pm as an Eid al-Fitr gift.

Development of the square
The council tendered the development of Sarudhaaru Maizaan on 28 July 2024. Three bids came in (MVR 1,490,000 to 1,600,000), and the work was awarded on 19 August 2024 to Salaam Investment for MVR 1,490,000 over 135 days.
